Description Lucky Rabbit’s Foot by Courtney Davis

These were only the beginning of Fawn Malero’s problems, but they coincided with a vampire wedding-of-the-century coming to town and that made them a top priority. And as Logan began to take on more duties as pack Alpha, her loyalties were being tested by everyone. Could she run part of the city and part of the pack?

Then the burglaries started... of human homes, threatening exposure!

Being pulled in so many directions, Fawn feared she was failing her father and the supernaturals of Seattle leaving them open for challengers to their authority. Will Fawn's ability to enlist the help of other supernaturals be enough? Or will they finally see that she doesn't have what it takes to keep Seattle safe and its supernaturals hidden?

Review Lucky Rabbit’s Foot by Courtney Davis

If you think that you have it rough, try catching thousands of rabbits in blistering heat and still having thousands more to go.

This is the trial that faces our titular character, Fawn Malero at the opening of this book, 'Lucky Rabbit’s Foot (The Fawn Malero Mysteries Book 4)' by Courtney Davis.

Fawn is a private investigator that works with the supernatural community in Seattle, and tries her best to solve their problems.

As a magician herself, Fawn is blessed with several special powers, including the ability to communicate with animals and a strong sense of empathy for other supes.

More often than not, these powers lead her down some strange paths, and this is how she ends up catching rabbits.

This is also how she ends up hosting Jasmine, a pregnant ex-girlfriend who has recently run away from an abusive husband. Of course, Fawn's current boyfriend, the werewolf Logan, has a lot to say about this, causing quite a bit of tension in their household.

But that isn't even the worst of Fawn's problems. There is also the matter of the strange, alarming weather patterns that are striking Seattle with no end in sight.

Fawn and her team of diverse supernatural have to sort out these disturbances before the vampire wedding of the century comes to town-- a wedding that features Logan's ex as the bride.

It's a rough week for Fawn, but she faces it with the aplomb and brassiness that readers of the previous books in the series have come to love.

Davis has created an interesting and varied world of different supernatural creatures in this series, with everything from elves to trolls and sirens being represented.

There is truly going to be something for everyone in this series, and you just have to dip in to find out! 5 Stars!

Excerpt Lucky Rabbit’s Foot by Courtney Davis

“Ms. Malero, I’m glad to see you’re here looking into this,” a voice said as we pushed through the crowd.

A few curious human faces turned my way.

I turned to glare at whoever had spoken. As far as any human knew, I was a business owner and nothing more. Good at yoga and that was it. I was surprised to see a somewhat familiar Vampire face looking at me with a raised eyebrow over ice blue eyes, his mouth quirked just enough to hint at the fangs underneath. If that wasn’t enough to tell me Vamp, he was dressed in a timeless sort of style of black slacks and button up shirt with a wool coat over his shoulders. He looked sleek and dangerous, but not obvious.

“I’m sorry, Do I know you?” I couldn’t place the man.

“I work the bar downtown,” the man said with a laugh. “We’ve never officially met, but I’ve served you a cup of wine or two.” He held out his hand. “Saul.”

“Nice to officially meet you, Saul.” I did recognize him then. A nice bartender at the local Vamp club. I felt a bit of shame color my cheeks realizing I’d never cared to learn the man’s name. “I am here to see what’s up, but I don’t even know for sure if it’s a Supe,” I whispered the last but I knew he’d catch it.

“As if it would be anything else before the big wedding. Probably someone trying to cause trouble for the powerful couple,” he whispered back.

“I hope not.” That would put Cassius way too far into my business if it was.

“Dante is a formidable vampire, as you know well. His father even more so. They both have enemies and some aren’t happy about the choice of grooms. Whoever marries young Anthea will be an important part of a powerful family.”

Heat filled my body as I thought about Dante. Never in my life had I been so attracted to a Vampire, but it wasn’t my fault, the damn fanger had invaded my mind, my dreams, and my life. I’d happily sent him on his way without ever giving in to more than a kiss, but he was coming back, and I wasn’t sure how I felt about that.

Saul cleared his throat, and I realized I was touching my lips. I dropped my hand and glared at him, hoping to hell that he wasn’t able to read minds or some shit.

“It’s possible, but hopefully not. I assure you we are working on it either way. What are people here saying?” I asked.

“Not much, the humans are confused and mostly convinced it’s an evil scientist or God punishing them. The Supes are worried it’s an evil scientist or Supe with a God complex.” He shrugged.

“My money is on God complex,” I said.

Annabel leaned in beside me. “This is probably an evil Magician. Or an evil Magician’s toy.”

“Not a Troll, we don’t go in for death and destruction, we are harmonious with nature,” Betina pointed out.

“Which leads us back to Supe with a God complex,” Saul said with a sigh. “I’m off to work, good luck Ms. Malero, we’re all counting on you to keep the city safe.” He bowed slightly and hurried off, blending quickly with the shadows.

“No pressure,” I mumbled.

We moved forward into the crowd and pushed toward the police line. It wasn’t hard to spot Logan among the crowd there. He had a presence about him that drew me like nothing else and I felt something inside me settle as I laid eyes on him. He was my man and he made me feel whole after years of not belonging.

Logan turned when I approached, his dark eyes seeking me out immediately. He moved through the people and brought me in for a tight hug. “Fawn, love, what took you so long?”

“My car doesn’t like the snow,” I said with a laugh.

“And neither does my Magician, does she?” Logan said and leaned down for a quick kiss.

“This is exciting,” Jasmine said brightly, having followed Logan through the crowd. “I heard more than one Supe murmuring about you. They think you’ll handle this, you’re definitely making a name for yourself, Fawn.”

Pressure, I thought to myself. “Is there any evidence left to follow?” I pulled away from Logan and looked at my friend, Logan kept a possessive arm around my back.

“We have an insider,” she whispered conspiratorially.

I quirked an eyebrow up at Logan.

“Brandon is out there with the police, he’ll let us know if they find anything useful.
